About Farm Cart:

Local Food Should Be Simple.

Finding local foods and supporting the folks who make it possible shouldn't be a chore. Farm Cart simplifies the process by curating weekly deliveries of fresh ingredients and delivering them to you. Did I mention there are recipes? LOTS of recipes!

What I'm all about:

Searching high and low for good local food really got my goat.

I knew it existed, but I was spending an inordinate amount of time and energy trying to find it: scrutinizing labels, going to multiple stores, getting frustrated when I missed the farmers market, or there weren't any eggs left! I decided to make it my job to make local food as easy as possible, and in June of 2019 I compiled the first-ever Farm Cart delivery.

If you're like me, you:

  • Want to eat fresh, healthy foods (most of the time.)

  • Care about how your food is produced - animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and the like.

  • Want to cook more, but don't always know where to start.

  • Like the idea of going to the farmers market every week (or every other week? when is it again?) but actually only make it a few times.

  • Think about signing up for a CSA program from a local farm, but usually don't - it's a big commitment!

  • Are busy with your family/work/hobbies/life and wish that sometimes someone else would step in, decide what to make for dinner, and do the shopping.

My name is Katie Plumb.

I was born and raised in Bozeman (Yes, we exist!) and returned home in 2014. I love stories, and I still want to be writer when I grow up. I actually fell in love with food through writing.

Farm Cart is my effort to make a difference for both the community and the landscape that nurtured me. I'd like to see as much land as possible remain in food production because I believe responsible agriculture is an essential piece of a strong local economy, a healthy ecosystem, and a well-knit community.
